Description
«I love an aria to be as accurately tailored to a singer as a well-made dress»: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's works for voice were only custom-made. The celebrated soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller takes up the challenge, donning the garments of some of Mozart's most famous heroines - among them the dramatic, wrathful Elettra from «Idomeneo». Following the interval, the hr-Sinfonieorchester and Alain Altinoglu turn from myth to fairy tale: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's «Scheherazade» transforms the tales from the Thousand and One Nights into exhilarating images in sound, with the concertmaster's violin in the role of the clever narrator Scheherazade, who succeeds in appeasing the angry sultan.
