Where nature blends with music
Buttering horns over lush meadows? Rustling leaves with a timpani roll? Singing violins in the sunset? This can only be found in Grafenegg, where for two decades the sonority of the symphony orchestra has harmonized in a unique way with the vibrations of nature.
The echoes of last summer still waft through the castle park. The music is in every fiber, the sounds cover the area as a fine patina. The most beautiful starry sky stretches out above the natural concert hall, which always comes to life between June and September.
Grafenegg once again has a top-class festival summer in store for 2025. It begins with the Midsummer Night's Gala, Fabien Gabel's first concert as music director of the Tonkunstler Orchestra. The festival opening, this time with Poulenc's double concerto and the monumental «Alpensinfonie», will also be in his hands for the first time. In addition to our orchestras in residence, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be guests with a varied programme. I would describe the festival finale as a sensational affair of the heart: Zubin Mehta's reunion with the Tonkunstler Orchestra after more than 60 years.
Magnificent orchestral concerts and fine chamber music, great artists and a unique ambience in the midst of nature - the summer 2024 in Grafenegg once again promises special musical moments and has something in store for every taste.

Summer Sounds
19 June – 09 August 2025The summer sounds offer diverse programs ranging from large symphonic works to operetta and jazzy sounds. In addition, the young musicians of the Grafenegg Academy Orchestra give the final concert of their rehearsal and work phase.
Festival
14 August – 07 September 2025The 19th Grafenegg Festival will take place from August 14th to September 7th, 2025.
Under the artistic direction of Rudolf Buchbinder, renowned top orchestras and international artists will perform in Grafenegg.
Composer in Residence 2025 is the Argentinian-Spanish composer and conductor Fabián Panisello.
